Panasonic Home Theater System

There are several versions of the Panasonic home theater system available. Since Panasonic is such an established company, its products have been on the market for some time, so there are lots of reviews available online. Here is what some consumers think about some of Panasonic’s popular models.

Panasonic SC-PT1050 Theater System – DVD Player, Radio Tuner, 5 Speakers and Subwoofer, 250 Watts – This system received a four-star review from a self-described “techie.” It’s pros are the iPod dock, Digital In, low price, good sound, and decent surround sound effects.

The cons listed are cheap speaker wire, an abundance of shiny plastic, and “claustrophobic” surround options. Setup is easy enough, but some strange button combinations are necessary to calibrate the subwoofer. The reviewer notes that this is a fine system for its price. This setup is available online for $450-$600.

Panasonic SC-HT17 Theater System – DVD Player, 5 Speakers and Subwoofer, 100 Watts – This system retails for $500, although you can find it for less at several outlets. It has received a five-star review, with no cons listed. Pros include good sound and power, great value, and a stylish look for this Panasonic home theater system.

Panasonic SC-HT940 Theater System – DVD Player, 5 Speakers and Subwoofer, 190 Watt RMS – This system has ten reviews that give it an average of four stars.

Users appreciate its price (available for under $400), wireless surround speakers, Panasonic’s excellent technical support, clear sound. The only big con listed really is a major one, however. It seems that this unit sometimes offers a failure called an “f61” that is not fixable and not covered under warranty, so be sure to research this fully before purchasing this system.

Panasonic SC-HT680 Theater System – DVD Player, 5 Speakers and Subwoofer, 190 Watts – The overall rating for this model is 4.5 stars out of five.

It’s well-liked and considered a good deal. Users applaud its easy user interface, performance, and the HDMI DVD Upconvert. The major complaint seems to be in the tricky remote control and cheap speaker wire.

These are only a few of the many Panasonic home theater systems available. They seem to be well-received, and there are many low-cost options available from this company.
