Determining the
best home theater
systems is
certainly a subjective process. What makes one the
“best” for one person may not figure into another
person’s preferences at all. Here are a few different systems
you can look into to determine what will be the best one for your small
room (up to 120 square feet).
A home theater in a box is the best bet for
a small room. These systems have a receiver, five (or more) speakers,
and a subwoofer all in one kit. Many also include a DVD player.
For good quality in a small system, consider
the Onkyo HT-990THX. It is not the cheapest option, but you know that
you get what you pay for, and it’s as true in home theaters
systems as it is in many other products.
This product is the first of
its kind in that it is a certified THX system in a box. It’s
also XM Satellite radio ready. The biggest downside is that a DVD
player is not included.
The Sony DAV-X1 is another good option when
looking for the best home theater systems in a box. It is lower-priced
than the Nokyo HT-990THX, but of course doesn’t have quite as
many features. It does include a DVD player, however.
Unfortunately, it
doesn’t provide the best sound quality for music
CD’s. This is a virtual surround sound system, with front
speakers giving the illusion of rear speaker sound.
Lastly, consider the Panasonic SC-PT750 home
theater system. It’s another low priced system that delivers
pretty good bang for your buck. It even includes an iPod dock and is XM
Satellite ready.
Keep in mind that at this price,
you’re not
getting the best home theater systems in terms of quality, but it just
might be the best for your budget and your small room.
